Business Analyst (market risk management) (Toronto)

Our client, a major bank, is looking for a Business Analyst with experience in group treasury and market risk management to join their team on a permanent basis.
As part of the technology team, you will have to add value to the bank´s Risk Management Group by supporting their technology and business analysis. This includes providing IT solutions to the business line and managing multiple applications and projects.
Your tasks:
- Conduct research and analysis to meet the business needs of the bank with a focus on risk management
- Accurately and clearly define users’ requirements and processes to assist in the resolution of highly complex problems
- Manage the systems’ implementation process (e.g. develop test cases, perform testing, define user procedures, workflows, conversion and implementation strategies, provide documentation to users, etc.)
- Provide business support to all global units (train users, help to design and implement systems’ enhancements, etc.)
- Ensure that management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately
- Supervise business analysts and technical staff
- Manage the financial aspects of projects to ensure these are delivered within budget
What you need to get the job:
- Proven customer service experience and ability to respond effectively to a
variety of stakeholders’ concerns/issues
- Minimum of 3 years of personnel management experience (proven ability to build, coach and lead a strong and effective team)
- Demonstrated experience prioritizing multiple projects, resulting in customer and staff satisfaction
- Demonstrated ability to lead large projects from inception to completion or
formal training in project management
- Excellent knowledge and experience of project management and software development life cycles
- Sound experience in the financial reporting process
- Good knowledge of financial instruments, including market conventions, valuation methods, risk methodologies and models (best practices, current and anticipated regulatory requirements, back-office processes and end-to-end workflows among the front, middle, and back offices)
- At least, a perfect understanding of one financial market area (e.g. interest rate derivatives), and a basic knowledge of an other financial market area
- Good understanding of system development techniques including testing methodologies, modeling tools (real-time analysis)
- Knowledge of the most recent changes in the field of technology
- Strong technical knowledge including hardware, networks, software (Unix, Windows and MS Office)
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization and to build strong relationships with peers
