Part-time Payroll Assistant (Mississauga)

The Payroll Assistant assists the Payroll Coordinator with the responsibility of the payroll function. The successful candidate will also be the main contact in the absence of the Payroll Coordinator.
This individual will be responsible for:
• Assist Payroll Coordinator in processing payroll for both Canadian and US centers and Home Office
• Collect timesheets and check to ensure accuracy
• Ensure proper authorization is obtained for changes in rate, position or termination, etc
• Accurately input payroll data from timesheets to computer system
• Check accuracy of payroll output e.g. payroll register
• Answer employee inquiries
• Assist Payroll Coordinator in performing year end functions such as reconciliation of T4 Summary (Canada) and W2 (US)
• File payroll records and legal documents
• Assist Payroll Coordinator with reporting and audit of Company sponsored RRSP/401K plans
• Assist in preparation of manual cheques
Qualifications
• College Diploma
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in Payroll Administration
• HR experience an asset
• General clerical experience
• Experience in using computerized payroll software
