Junior Scientist or Engineer for Biotech Start-up - pt/ft

Cerebral Diagnostics Canada Inc. is seeking a position of Junior Scientist or Engineer for Part-time/Full-Time Employment.
Cerebral Diagnostics Canada Inc. (CDCI) is a small bio-tech start-up based out of Toronto that is developing clinical diagnostic tests using neurodiagnostic imaging techniques and state-of-the-science mathematical/analytic tools and models. Our technology is a high end brain imaging derivative of EEG.
This position is well suited for a recent graduate, with a dynamic attitude who is cooperative and willing to learn. The position is based in a medical clinic and there is a second stream of lesser duties involving being a doctor’s assistant.
The successful candidate must have:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical/Electrical Engineering, Neuroscience or Mathematics
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Quick learning, critical thinking and strong problem solving skills
The applicant may have some combination of the following capabilities so please indicate if you have any experience in any of the following:
• Matlab experience in Digital Signal Analysis, in particular ICA, FFT and Wavelet toolboxes
• Electroencephalogram or Evoked potential background
• Brain Signal Source Estimation, Mathematics/Computing, Statistical analysis of brain signals Pattern Recognition, Multivariate Analysis
• Neuroscience background
• Clinical Trials operation experience such as recruiting of patients and research protocol
• C/C++, OpenGL or other relevant coding experience
Candidates should also mention if they have any experience in the following areas:
• Any Clinical Trial Recruitment experience
• Patent writing skills
• Grant writing experience and success (NSERC, NRC, CIHR, etc.)
• Any experience with regulatory approvals (CSA, Health Canada, CE, FDA, ISO’s – especially 13485 and 9001)
• Publications (peer-reviewed or not)

The present focus is on refining and commercializing several of the company’s inventions. It is currently staffed by two full-time employees and a number of part-time employees. It provides a dynamic, cutting-edge environment with ample opportunities for creativity and learning.
