OISE/UofT Research Study – Trauma and Recovery ($40) (252 Bloor St. West)

You are invited to participate in a research study being conducted by
Justin Mattina, M.A., Ph.D. candidate, and Jonathan Danson, B.A., M.A.
candidate, from the department of Adult Education and Counselling
Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the
University of Toronto. This study is being conducted under the
supervision of Dr. Jeanne Watson, Ph.D., C.Psych.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the process of recovering
from a trauma. If you have ever experienced an event that YOU would
consider traumatic (e.g., bullying, assault, accident, robbery,
injury, witness to a trauma, etc.), and are currently feeling some
distress related to this event, you may be eligible to participate.
Qualifying participants must also meet the following criteria:
1) Between the ages of 18 and 65
2) Able to speak, write and read English fluently
3) Have not written in a personal diary for at least 12 months
4) Do not identify the death of a loved one as the traumatic event
5) Not currently involved in psychotherapy
6) Not currently taking any psychotropic medications (e.g., antidepressants)
7) Not currently at risk of harming yourself or another individual
Qualifying individuals who participate in all phases of the study will
be compensated $40, and be entered into a draw to win an additional
$100. Participation will involve coming to our offices at OISE/UT,
located at 252 Bloor Street West (Bloor & St. George).
